I don’t know why my fellow Dems have called on Barr to answer questions when judging from what he has said so far he is more the President’s counsel than the AG. Mueller’s testimony would be much more useful and seeing that he too has misgivings about Barr’s take on the Special Counsel’s report, he’d probably be much more willing.
The attorney general said in his first hearing that he had not read the underlying evidence concerning possible obstruction of justice. This from the head of the Justice Department. Then he said he found Mr. Mueller’s letter was “a bit snitty.” Then he objects to the format of the hearing. What I find so interesting is that with all the clamor of “TOTAL EXONERATION! NO COLLUSION! NO OBSTRUCTION!”, the unredacted report is being kept under so many wraps. While I understand that some of the report must be classified in the interests of national security, I find that argument rings a bit hollow when security clearances are granted to individuals the intelligence agencies said should not have such clearance.
