What’s with the week-long(?) run with the end of school every year. In the US, school ends from before Memorial Day to mid-June and will pick up again from mid-August to after Labor Day. Some of it is climate driven … some not.
What are they teaching in this school’s history classes? The reason the school year ends when it does is because the 85% of the nation’s families who work in agriculture need the kids down on the farm for the growing season. Sheesh! What do they think keeps the nation’s economy going?
Simon and Garfunkel made the hammer/nail equation pretty popular with El Condor Pasa, but Paul Thorn gets the nod for authenticity. Same theme, but it’ll be tough for anyone to make the song more authentic than it is coming from a guy who just got beat up by Roberto Duran.
Which I never did, either. But I have felt like the wire to another’s pliers a few times.
