Saw a funny T-shirt the other day that said..”Tu Eres Un Pandejo” in big letters and underneath in small letters (you are my friend) [;-)

Ah, yes! Cleo Clifford is enough to give any frontier marshal heart palpitations and make him sleep restlessly at night.

Never cared for TV westerns, but Johnny Carson’s portrayal of Miss Kitty was unforgrttable.

Re Ballard Street, I see where Nighthawks gets his inspiration for portraying street drains.

Our sweet innocent Cleo portrays a “female of the world”, so to speak.. albeit with a somewhat sweet, innocent name…

in one of the longest running programs ever, on BTV….

in the January 19th, 2021 “Cleo and Company”, …on Sherpa.

In her role as the beautiful owner of the “Little Twig Saloon”, she managed a staff of lovely pooches, who were the comfort of many a lonely cowdog…

while Miss Doggy herself was, for many years, the companion and confidante of the show’s hero….

The very tall (for a basset), handsome, and capable U.S. Canine Marshall, Matty Diggin’…

through all manner of adventures and escapades involving Old West crime and its resolution.

I assure you, though… in a time of family friendly television fare,

it was all done in the best possible taste.

The emphasis was on Marshall Diggin’ and his attempts to tame the Wild West.

No puppy or human child would be made aware of Miss Doggy’s occupation before he or she knew such an occupation existed.

And of course, in canine society, no stigma is attached to much of anything anyway.

When the humans later copied the program,

they had to puppy-foot around the portrayal with a bit more caution.

I do think, though, that the saloon in the human version may have been a bit less ramshackle.

    Dogs aren’t known to care.

Since I am an acknowledged expert on saloon names (I took the bar exam in 2 states), “Little Twig” misses the point. The “Branch” in Long Branch referred to a tributary, not a tree limb.

Good morning, Ballardeers! Q Date: 312.98651.39 National Popcorn and World Quark Day.

Just in case you’re wondering, “Quark is a European superfood staking its claim on supermarket shelves around the world. Quark is a delicious high-protein, low-fat alternative to soft cheese and yogurt that can be used for baking, cooking and blending.” I’m thinking the delicious part of that statement is subjective. Guess I’m going to have to send someone to the Jewels to get some Wunder (umlaut over the u)

I remember gathering around the T and V every Saturday to watch this classic. Even though Miss Doggy was the star of the worldly ladies, Miss Pittie was always my favorite.

Y’all grab a quark and have a wonderful day. (((((HUGS)))))

I changed my avatar to a ‘local’ Ghost Town. This is a hotel complete with a saloon. The place is called ‘Bannack’. Great restorations.

Chester and doc are both up there knocking on her door, knowing that they will give her a much better time than the marshal ever could give to her.

First dose of the Moderna vaccine today. So far, so good. The only problem was my appointment was at 12:30 and I didn’t get in until 1. Then, had to wait 15 minutes before I could leave so was very late for my 1:00 appointment. Thankfully, she was understanding.
