Easy. Never ever listen/cooperate/compromise with a liberal/conservative just call them names. If they’re not with us they’re the enemy. The Constitution and established religious teaching are just suggestions, that you can ignore. Don’t concern yourself with others … just watch out for yourself.
In the Art of War, Sun Tzu advises, before even fighting: “The best thing to do is to defeat the enemy’s plans, the next best thing is to disrupt his alliances. Where is unified, divide him.”
It seems that Trump is doing our enemies’ work for them.
Stahler, when was the last time you were in a social studies classroom? Or spoke with a social studies teacher?
What makes you think that social studies teachers are advocating division?
Our curriculum is basically TWO things. The history of the United States and the process of our government. We’re there to get the kids to understand these two things and use that knowledge to function in America.
At the end of the year students are expected to show proficiency in those two things. They’re certainly not tested in my political or social views.
I teach the history of the United States and the process of our government.
If you think that is divisive that’s because you either do not know them, or you do not agree with them.
Let me give you an example.
I teach students that it was NOT Obama’s job to hand out Executive Orders on immigration. I teach students that Trump made the same mistake Obama did, when Trump did the same thing.
Why is this a mistake? Because it is CONGRESS’ job to write legislation. Once Congress passes legislation the Chief Executive uses Executive Orders as necessary to support that legislation. Not to create new policy all his own. I want my students to understand, Congress failed their role in the process. And that BOTH presidents failed when they did not get Congress to do their jobs.
It is NOT my job as a social studies teacher to tell my students to accept everything the government does as in our best interests. I teach them to mistrust and question them ALL. Just because you share the same party as the president does NOT make him your friend.
Because while the process works, the men do not. Is that divisive?
Only if you want a tyrant involved in our process. One trying to ignore our history.

If there has never been cohesion, can there be division?

The Junior Republican League is learning class warfare.
Counties that hosted political rallies with Donald Trump had Hate Crimes reportedly jump by 226 percent .
Why do Republicans love to be evil?
