Trump knows exactly what he is doing, tries to whitewash it to the general public, while very explicitly reassuring his white supremacist supporters that he has their back.
Not all Trump supporters are Nazis and KKKONfederates.
But virtually all Nazis and KKKONfederates are Trump supporters.
And all Trump supporters had to see the way Trump mocked a disabled reporter, ridiculed John McCain, Gold Star families and generals, in addition to his support for Nazis and KKKONfederates and it was not disqualifying for them.
That so many find ways to rationalize his immoral, unethical, hateful behavior is disgusting and that the 115th Congress did nothing that demonstrated that American values are still intact is even more disgusting. Partisanship should never override common decency.
