a) better lobbyists (the NRA domestic terrorist and international (Russia-funded) money laundering crime syndicate; and
b) less integrity; and
c) a special 2005 immunity from product liability lawsuits for harm caused by their products that no other industry has, thanks to a special law signed by George Dubya Bush
Amazing how the worst terrorist, 58 dead, nearly 500 wounded, in Las Vegas, has lots of guns, but no released motive, and the investigators say they couldn’t find ANYTHING on this guy’s thought process? Oh, and how often does the NRA, press, or government bring up this case again when there’s a terrorist attack anywhere?
AR-15 is just a mildly altered assault weapon for military use and the bullets that can be used can kill you more easily and readily than from a 9mm pistol.
Winchester’s widow went to a great deal of effort to keep the ghosts of the murdered away. I wonder how these executives plan to explain their crimes to the ghosts of their murdered. I wonder how they sleep at all.
Building nationalism, xenophobia, racial/religious biases, anger, fear, distrust of fellow citizens, the need to take arms to protect oneself, and emphasizing differences rather than creating common goals to unite our nation seems to be a tactic of an enemy of America, not what a patriotic supporter loyal to American Constitutional values would do.
Yes, it’s not a design flaw that guns can kill people, that the AR-15 types were really designed to kill people, that there is a legal exemption for these objects, doesn’t mean they should be made and sold.
These assault rifles should never have been allowed in the first place to the general public. The only purpose of these rifles is to spew as many bullets around, reload, and then spew more bullets around – to try to suppress and kill as many people as possible. Not a hunting tool. Not really a defensive tool around the house. And don’t go spouting that these rifles are not automatic. Pshaw. These rules are meant to be broken.
One worked exactly as it was supposed to. The other crashed due to rushed engineering. Also, those two crashes killed the same number of people as the top 18 shootings in the US, of which 7 used “aSsAuLt WeApOnS”

Apparently, the gun manufacturers have…

b) less integrity; and
c) a special 2005 immunity from product liability lawsuits for harm caused by their products that no other industry has, thanks to a special law signed by George Dubya Bush

Dubya has the lion’s share of the blame on this one, for failing to keep a campaign pledge to renew the assault weapons ban.

Well, the two planes were accidents, or at the least the first one was. The second was negligence at best.
Gun deaths are on purpose. We still try to prevent accidents.

Obviously the NRA and the Gun Makers have a LOT MORE MONEY to use to BRIBE and buy their own pet Congresscritters then even Boeing does.

Didn’t really need the designation “assault weapons,” but it didn’t dilute the cartoon’s efficacy.

For all their supposed “talent”, 99% of cartoonists can’t draw an accurate firearm.
