Yep, the grandma Pelosi rule of staid, ineffective old 20th century political games designed to drag those old, tired, impotent games along so the fossils in the Legislature can hobble the next generation of 21st century leaders.
Putting freshman Members up as Committee Chairs (as was being demanded by the unwashed mob) is an absurd path to political suicide. This year, even allowing them to speak appears to be fraught with hazard.
On the other hand, the Dems do not follow the same rules the GOP follows when in power. The Dems run purely on seniority when it comes to committee Chairs or Ranking Member. This is sticking in the craws of younger members and their fan base.
The GOP at least has a rotation system that opens up committee slots for younger (but not freshmen).
The big problem is that, so far, the above cartoon is not even close to accurate. From what we have seen so far, 3 freshman members have been driving the entire party since November. With not apparent end in sight. If Pelosi cannot get her House in order there will be serious consequences at the polls in 2020. I am willing to venture that a large majority of Americans are not pleased with the public furor surrounding the 3 new girls o the block.
You can’t learn to ride a horse, bake bread, play a violin, or build a House, if all you do is watch someone else do it. Especially if you’re not even allowed to ask questions.

She did make the deal that she would help train the newcomers if she was made the Speaker.

Spare the rod, spoil the freshmen. . .

But shouldn’t freshmen PRESIDENTS keep their mouths shut?

From a purely pragmatist standpoint, it’s a good rule.

As AOC says, “It’s all about the Benjamin’s.”.

If only. The sad fact is that these freshmen are running roughshod over her “authority”.

Left unsaid, who controls the GOP…

I rather think she sees them as the Dems JTF-1

Unfortunately, the 2 are much like Trump. They have no concept of the fact they were elected to represent the people, not themselves.
