Seems like the ONLY thing the Republicans learn from history is the lesson that they have to try to find NEW WAYS of covering up their Unconstitutional Crimes against America… a lesson the current occupant HASN’T learned yet.
It’s odd that while Barbara Jordan correctly pointed out that Nixon’s action had virtually destroyed the people’s trust in government and the 2 party system, … yet nothing significant was done to strengthen the checks and balances to protect us from future occurrences.
The current GOP mindset seems to be, " The agenda is more important than the Party and the Party is more important than the Country". Clearly, lessons have not been learned. 2020 is coming.
I wonder if Trump knows who she is. Frankly, I wonder if Trump remembers who Nixon was—he hasn’t had a chance to look at Roger Stone’s tattoo recently, what with the country being in a “national emergency” and all……..
Impeachment and being removed from office are two different things. Only two US Presidents have been impeached and neither were removed from office. Bill Clinton’s popularity went up after his impeachment hearings.
Barbara Jordan was one of the most articulate and clearest thinker of the mid twentieth century. I wish she had been able to go higher in public service than a congressional representative from Texas
