In college I used to get paid to pretend to be hypnotized. I wish I could remember the researcher’s name so I could look up the studies. (Some Australian guy who showed that he could duplicate almost any alleged hypnotic phenomenon just by paying the fakers enough.)

First of all, you need a darken room with complete silence. Plus, Adam needs to be in a comfortable chair.
