Mike, too bad you didn’t watch the speech. If you had you would have seen that Nancy demands decorum in her house, speaks softly, and is polite to her guests. She didn’t respond to threats by sticking out her tongue, but did say something to the press afterwards.
Given that Trump opened his speech with an implicit “Screw you” to Pelosi, by refusing to wait for the traditional introduction by the presiding officer of the joint session, the Speaker, her response was, at worst, rather mild. And Meghan McCain had the most telling response to the speech.
After Trump telling 7000 lies already while in office, exploding annual deficits, the worst year for stocks since the Bush Recession and feckless weakness in the face of Putin, Trump should be happy Nancy isn’t smacking him on the back of the head.
This is such a petty topic. So, I’ll make a petty observation. Not only did the President not wait to be introduced by the Speaker of the House to begin giving his comments, he didn’t acknowledge her in his opening comments (which is traditional). Both were slights against her, right out of the starting gate.
