One time, when our girls were really young, we went to one of those Chinese food buffet places. We went to this particular one somewhat frequently & the managers knew us. Anyway, this time we had gotten there early and there were plenty of seats. Soon after we arrived a couple came in. The manager went to seat them near us. They looked down their noses at us, saying that they’d prefer not by bothered by sitting near young children. The manager told them that our girls weren’t bothersome, but they didn’t believe her. She seated them further away, near the windows. Soon the place started to fill up. Finally, a family with three extremely rambunctious boys came in, and the only place to put them was at a table adjacent to the couple! As those boys kept throwing things & being a general nuisance, the couple looked over at our table, where our girls were being nice and quiet, conversing in low tones, using their chopsticks (or attempting to) nicely.
You’d think the kids would know better than to act up when they’re at a restaurant. Andy is such a terrible cook that they should never do anything to jeopardize the possibility of a meal out.
