Running around with open containers of alcohol, can’t they get arrested for that? I can imagine the store workers would probably be calling the police right now.
That’s offensive. I’m 58 and still build models. Mine are a lot more complex and require actual tools to build, but they’re still models…and mock-ups of planned designs….
I can relate to the temptation. I always have stop and look and pick up the boxes. LOVE the stoggie Sam has jammed in his mouth. And whiskey ALWAYS fixes everything; for a while.
Oooo-kay. I gotta take issue with a couple things here:
Models cars/planes/trains are not just for kids. (I oughta know.) Anyone who’s been to a model car/plane/train/whatever show will tell you that there’s mostly adults at one of these shows. Once you see the prices involved, you’ll note that only adults can afford the stuff (same for model railroad shows): http://www.uniqueeventsshows.com/Scale_Auto_Hobby_Toy_Show.html
There’s even a magazine dedicated to the hobby: http://www.scaleautomag.com
I understand that Sam’s just trying to get Roy to snap out of it and remember their mission, but still…
Furthermore, if the store has plastic models, they better not be turning away men. I’ve only ever met one woman in my entire life (a current co-worker) who was interested in model cars and trains. (NO, we’re not dating—what we have in common pretty much ends there.)
I’m just hoping the next strip has Sam distracted by whatever his interests might be, and Roy has to give Sam his well-deserved comeuppance and snap him out of it!
Quite a funny little thread Bea has here – made me think of my wife – she reacts to Harbor Freight the same way the gals in here do to sparkly stuff. (Wife’s the carpenter and plumber in the family – no jewelry needed – a nice table saw does it all for her…)

Someone here had called Roy stumbling across some model kits a week or so back.
Wasn’t me, though. ✨AnyFace over 5 years ago
Dear Heaven, Roy’s feet and nose have somehow gotten even longer today. ✨

Sam must read Arthur C. Clarke. ✨

Guess the boys have given yesterday’s Sailor Senshi the slip.
Not sure we ever did identify ‘em all. ✨NewPatriot778 over 5 years ago

These guys need to find some tools and become Lumbercats! I strongly prefer that over these non-Kosher Rambos! XD

The scent of alcohol makes him remember he’s not a child? I wonder why Charlene hasn’t tried this, doesn’t she drink?

Good thing Sam did not spy the model Beetle. That he and sweet Sedine’s ride. Guess he was blinded by the bacon.

Hopefully, Sam won’t stumble upon his personal kryptonite…whatever that might be.
