Go L.A. Rams. OK, I’m definitely partial. Grew up my first 40+ years in L.A. before moving to San Diego County, where we no longer have the Chargers and could never root for them anyway since they were (are) owned by a racist family that was the fifth largest donor to Dubya Bush and the single biggest donor to Rick Perry in 2016 (what is it with those Texas governors?). So I like the Rams (and please, as MICHAEL MOORE observed, yeah, I agree the pass interference call was bad. But there were FOUR foul calls these terrible referees failed to call against New Orleans, each of which had an equal influence on the game, so it more than evens out).
But there is also history and social justice…
Los Angeles is the home to major league sports breaking the color barrier: in baseball, Jackie Robinson was on what became the Los Angeles Dodgers, and in football, when the Cleveland Rams wanted to move to L.A. and play in the Los Angeles Coliseum, Coliseum rules prohibited contracts with businesses that discriminated, so the L.A. Rams, as a condition for being able to play in the Coliseum, accepted the first NFL African American players: Woody Strode and Kenny Washington (who it so happens had also been roommates with Jackie Robinson when all three were together at UCLA).
In a game of inches, with inconsistent calls, the Pats always come out on top. The Chiefs learned that a few times this year. Their opponents were tough enough, without also having to play the Zebras! The NFL teams are tough enough without any help.
Totally agree, Clay! To think of the Rams/Pats game as being like pro wrestling, the NFL has already written the script that has the “jobber” Rams losing. It’s just a matter of how they lose.
Okay, you who dislike the Patriots are just jealous. They are an extremely focused and organized team. They have an economic grasp on salary management, have intelligent players with an excellent work ethic and leave their egos at the door and their players take pride in their ‘craft’. I know Gronk would rather retire than be traded. Also, don’t forget previous dynasties…the Redskins, 49ers, Dolphins, Raiders, Browns, Cowboys and Steelers. I had to look all those teams up, but I remember them, or at least most of them. And now the Patriots have a dynasty going, it won’t last forever so just enjoy the execution of the game. They aren’t infallible, and I sure do love them, so there.
I would like to think that Bennett just doesn’ tlike the Pats due to their dominance of the game in the past 10+ years. I know I am tired of them. But more likely it is just another example of the left hating anything that the President supports. Sad commentary about the left, but true.
Now that all is said and done, I would have to say it was more a Super Bore. After all the hype of two offensive powerhouses, both teams looked pretty much like Pop Warner teams, only not as enjoyable. And the half-time “extravaganza” was a dud. But as to the Left hating anything the president supports, that’s just silly. I’ve heard the same remarks about the (then) Baltimore Colts, Green Bay Packers, the 49ers, Denver Broncos, Dallas Cowboys, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Miami Dolphins. But then again, I am more than two decades older than the Super Bowl. Right now, the New England Patriots are atop the pyramid. They’ll be displaced soon and another team will likely take their place, and we’ll hear the same remarks.

I don’t even care about football; I want the Patriots to lose so everyone else will stop whining about them.

They should sell those pennants.

Brady and the cheating lying gang again….not sure the owner can make it to the game, probably still has his lips securely attached to Trump’s butt.

GO PATS!!! Global warming must have produced all the sour grapes.

Am I the only one who thinks the Patriots success is a symptom of a less competitive league?
Ontman about 5 years ago
My main (if foolish) reason for wanting the Rams to win is that it will piss Trump off. California you know.

31 – 28 Rams. You saw it here first. Unless you saw it somewhere else first. Then you saw it there first.

When the Rams beat the Saints, my choice was clear; Go! Pats! Crush the Rams!

Now, Patriots are the team to beat. Times past it was the Dolphins, Steelers, Cowboys, and Rams.
