After a series of defeats from the ballot box to SCOTUS, the free press can finally tell the American people that we have a new experience. We have victory – a remarkable and definite victory.
Pelosi and Schumer turned back Trump’s forces in the Senate, thus winning what we call "The Battle of the Wall”.
We were never promised anything but hope and change. Now, however, the bright gleam has caught the attention of our citizens, and warmed and cheered all our hearts.
The late J.F.K observed that the torch of freedom has been passed to a new generation. America always wins one battle – the battle of ideas. Trump’s army is being defeated. It is being routed. It will now be very largely defeated as a political force.
These battles are not fought for the sake of gaining positions or so many votes or dollars. We fight with one single idea. We mean to destroy the notion that America is governed by the rich and powerful and not the people. We mean to destroy this evil practice at the place where their disaster would be most far-reaching and irrecoverable – in the hearts of the American public.
Such a sad example of so many others out there just like him along with the leader of his party who haven’t a clue on how to relate to many Americans who don’t have the privilege of knowing what its really like in so many cases. Even if he honestly(?) worked hard to earn his money all his life, it still remains a sad commentary on what he really thinks!
There are far too many independently wealthy in government and they have no clue how we live as Wilbur Ross demonstrates. As Guy Fawkes reminds us America must remain the beacon of democracy, a symbol of hope for the oppressed. There is nothing wrong with competitive capitalism when it is regulated to give mutually satisfactory benefit to both consumer and corporation, but between the monopolies and oligopolies, the satisfaction is much greater for the corporations. Touring the country used to an amazing experience before the chain restaurants replaced most of the local restaurants with their colorful but bland entrees and the auto-tuned national top 100 replaced the local radio stations favorite songs. Too many corporations have welded shut the entry doors they used to get started to avoid having to truly compete and innovate. Research is a smaller and smaller part of corporate budgets and copyright life gets longer and longer so innovation is not as essential as it once was. We can fix America if we want to, but we will have to take a more active role from now on.
“Why can’t these people use their own bootstraps, like I do? Whenever I need a few thou, I just invite a lobbyist to lunch and hint around a little. They even pay for the lunch!”
Just as there are a lot that truly suffered during this shutdown.. a significant number will have taken advantage of the time off.. and why not? If even 90% of government workers are living pay check to pay check.. that speaks to a larger problem. You want too many toys or too big a house.. learn from this. re-evaluate your finances.
I read today that a billionaire hedge fund executive paid a record $283 million for a NYC apartment. That is obscene as are hedge funds which have caused a lot of the problems inflicted on the working and middle classes.

I don’t know why the furloughed don’t just dip into their trust funds for food money.

The Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross wore $600 smoking slippers to a congressional address.
I heard he had them embroidered with the Commerce Dept logo for another $500.

Wilbur Ross could be “among the biggest grifters in American history,” … They say he is obsessed with money…

The Bottom-Feeder King
Never mind hedge funds. Wilbur Ross gets rich the unfashionable way—in steel plants, textile mills, and other stuff nobody wants.
