Trump could end this shutdown in the morning, if he wanted. He is holding 800,000 government workers hostage because he wants his wall. That is the only thing the Dems are unwilling to give him (for good reason). He will not accept anything else.

That is not “negotiation”. That is “extortion.”

This is Trump, the perv who grabs women by the nether regions without their consent. The Congress has a record number of women now. Ms Pelosi has every reason to be cautious, she should consider obtaining a restraining order.

The trumpster has all but stated that he is going to dictate to this country. In particular, the wall. That extended hand in this cartoon is a 5 finger salute instead of the usual 1 finger salute he hands out.

Trumps position is Give Me everything I want or I will add More hostages to the 800,000 Federal workers, working without pay. He May or may not arrest the DACA people.

Lisa what happened to “I will Own the Shutdown”? The same thing that happened to I will release my tax returns.

Trump keeps calling workers back to work as if its no big deal.He wants to have a shut down and still have all of the functions of the government that HE thinks are important. TRUMP DOESN’T GIVE A RAT"S PATOOTY ABOUT THAT WALL.!!!!! The only reason he is demanding a wall and creating a government shutdown is to keep that on the front page instead of the various legal problems that he and his associates are dealing with. And, we are buying it. By the 2020 election cycle, we will remember that Trump demanded his wall, caused a lot of problems and, oh yeah, I seem to remember there were some sort of legal issues his campaign was accused of also.

Trump didn’t offer his hand as if in an attempt to reconcile, he showed the fist he wanted to strike the Dem’s with. He still thinks he is the total head of the government, all three branches and Mitch has help foster that false idea. Trump is the head of the Executive Branch of the Government, He is not the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, nor is President of the Senate or Speaker of the House. We have three SEPARATE but EQUAL branches of the Government and Trump only is head of one. He is the Chief Executive Officer, not Chief Judicial or Chief Legislative Officer.

800,000 federal workers on leave + 800,000 DACA recipients+300,000 TPS recipients (give or take)=1.7 million hostages. That’s what Trump was offering.

We don’t negotiate with hostage takers.

Is this supposed to be a sort of “olive branch” allegory? If so, Mr Ariail gets his “news” from a very special source. It would be a really pleasant surprise to see our president acting in a dignified manner, but that hasn’t happened yet.
