I find it hard to condemn a 16 year old because 16 year olds are stupid (I teach High School, I know what I’m talking about here). This is a massive failure of adult supervision. What’s with the MAGA hats (this year’s brown shirt) if you’re going to a Right to Life rally? Where were the chaperones moving the boys away from a potentially dangerous situation? My boss would have my ass for that – and rightfully so.
Do the adults live in conservative bubble and think the rest of America sees it their way (SURPRISE!) or were they being deliberately provocative and are upset that they got bad press? Either way someone wasn’t thinking (or caring) about what’s best for their students.
The White House did not contact the brave Native American Vietnam Veteran, but chose to contact the school and the “student” to probably thank them. Also, a video surfaced about this school with the students in blackface. Yup, more Trump supporters.
@ Brian CarrollI’ve been reading your comic for about a year and a half now and have never seen you react this strongly to an incident.
As a middle school teacher I tend to agree with Chris Burns, this was a failure of the teachers, parents and other chaperones. Those folks went to DC looking for trouble and those kids were groomed to act that way. Their own testimony reveals that.
Those boys have been ruined by the adults in their lives. That school, their church has failed them.
I can’t believe the comments I’ve been seeing days after the initial Phillips’ short video (and his initial description) was revealed as being disingenuous at best. The narrative based on that tiny clip is completely false, but it just won’t die.
Phillips deliberately walked up to those boys who had said or done absolutely nothing to him, got right up in their faces. Beating on the drum inches from their faces.
The media and liberal social media jumped on this like it was bale of premium weed on a deserted beach. Catholics. MAGA hats. Right to life. White teens. Native American combat vet. Good lord, it was like a wet dream come true.
Now that it has blown up in their faces they are scrambling to apologize and distance themselves from their stupidity.
You folks need to walk away from this one. As more and more is revealed about Phillips’ stolen valor sins, the story just gets worse and worse and worse. This is a dead loser for anyone who takes sides against the kids.
Can’t wait ’til every frame of video and still shot of this group of Trumpen Youth in their 1.5 mile travels from the National Mall to the Lincoln Memorial comes out, and lip readers delve into the words of the bunch behind Sandmann.
I was a kid a long time ago, and our field trips were to tide pools (I remember Nudibranch , a hike down the Muir Trail (I remember Trillium) or to music festivals. Such good memories, and these kids have nothing but partisan, hateful memories. Sad.

Rabid Rudy worked for Ol’ Hickory? Jabba the Hucksterbeast was his press secretary? Who knew that FAUX Noise was in business THAT long ago??

The Trail of Tears is still commemorated every year by the Cherokee Nation. Thanks, Andy, for another “holiday”. (Retching sounds off stage.)

I think the word used should be defuse, not diffused.

No Trump Disciple comments…
I’m sure they would comment, if only they understood it.
