I remember seeing pictures of Halley’s Comet growing up. It was depicted as this huge beautiful streak zooming across the sky. Then came 1986 and the actual appearance of this celestial phenomenon. All it was was a tiny blur barely visible to the naked eye. Major disappointment. Made me want to vomet.

Halley’s comet always reminds me of the famous panel in the Bayeux Tapestry: “Isti mirant stella.”
