A cotton ball wouldn’t go very far, though. Not much good practicing with that!

These days practice golf balls are either made of plastic or foam. Don’t think Snoopy would enjoy those too much, either.

Did not know they made cotton practice balls, my father always used beat up balls to practice with!

At least it wasn’t a mothball

Cotton golf balls? Never heard of those. When I was I kid I used plastic golf balls — like little “Whiffleballs.” And instead of a dog picking one up it was a Red Headed Woodpecker, who snatched it and dropped it into the hole (s)he had made at the very top of a nearby telephone pole. I did get it back, though, about 10 years later after a violent thunderstorm managed to blow it out of the hole back into my yard.

Bury the club. Save a walk.

Cotton practice balls? Are those really a thing? I’ll admit to knowing next to nothing about golf.
