So the guy who robs the gas station’s defense is he never told his bag man to break the law. He did very low level work and has the liability if a gas station was robbed. I never told him to hold the gun, whatever he did he did on his own. Bringing up the gas station is just to embarrass me, it isn’t criminal to be in a gas station!

Legal analysts are saying Cohen isn’t coming completely clean on his crimes. I’m thinking, as I read his statements, he’s still having a hard time completely owning all the responsibility for his actions. He creeps too close to the “he made me do it” motif. What a sad wreck of a man.

Actually, if by “Congressmen”, you mean members of the House of Representatives, it didn’t work all that well for them last month, either. It still seems to have a good grip on the US Senate, tho.

dogday, I think Cohen has come more or less completely clean on his Federal crimes.

His other crimes, not so much.

He can probably survive a couple years at Club Fed.

    .

But, if he confesses to everything he’s seen and done around New York, and implicates some o’ dose guys, he ain’t gonna survive until their trial starts. Not to mention his family.

    .

Similarly, Manafort may find himself on the wrong end of a bone saw if he confesses too much.

Cohen likely has other “associations”, beyond the Trump/Russia/Election cases. His plea to Mueller’s Grand Juries did not require (as an SDNY or NY State plea agreement would) disclosure of his COMPLETE history. Cohen probably fears for retribution for divulged information about friends, or not-so-friendly past associates, who might threaten his family, friends and himself. Even his Trump “business” may have involved organized crime figures.

Manafort “confessed” plenty of things to Trump’s (current, but for how long?) lawyers while he was double-dipping and back-channeling. Mostly, Manafort is a career criminal (and probably traitor) who simply can’t help himself, if he thinks he can get one more half-ostrich/half python/half unicorn fur coat out of the deal!

The problem America has is that the entire system of government was predicated on necessary compromise which no longer works in any credible way.

America needs to rid itself of the “bicameral” fantasy government in which vast stretches of farm and ranch land are accorded the same importance as urban areas that have actual people in them.

I will agree that places like Montana, Wyoming and North Dakota deserve as much consideration as Connecticut, Virginia and Rhode island when cows, coyotes and chickens are accorded the vote.

We need to go to a strict “one person – one vote” operation!

You DO understand that the House of Representatives CEASED being “the people’s House” in 1912 when a bunch of morons, idiots and imbeciles decided amongst themselves that the whole idea of “representational government” had gone entirely too far and so they put an “artificial” CAP on the number of “Representatives” allowed in the House! It was supposed to be based on population but they put a stop to THAT nonsense, immediately!

I’ve heard the argument that the Actual number of Representatives WOULDN’T FIT in the Capital Building! That pathetic excuse is beneath contempt! Their meeting place is NOT HALLOWED GROUND! It can absolutely be torn down and be rebuilt! We NEED better “representational” government and we need it NOW! At one time the idea of “One person- One vote” wasn’t a pipe dream until a bunch of miscreants started fearing people would start outvoting their cows so they changed it.

It needs to be changed BACK -NOW!

So good, Rob! (I posted this previously)Yes, you were a bag man for a very poor criminal, Michael. Pros like Carlo Gambino or the Kansas City Civellas who skimmed Circus Circus Casino for years would never have left evidence against themselves all over everything they touched. He thinks he is unassailable.
