Trump gives GM corporation and top high-paid executives and investors billions in corporate welfare and tax giveaways to the few richest elites.

Then he imposes massive tariffs that impact GM’s ability to compete.

Trump in 2016 promised that NO AUTOMOTIVE JOBS WOULD BE LOST. He lied.

Because of Trump policies that incentivize the top, penalize the workers, and impose tariffs that cripple domestic sales, massive layoffs will occur.

    Obama saved GM.

Trump has kneecapped GM but, in the Trump world of “alternative facts” (read: LIES), it is OBAMA’s fault.

Oh, and maybe the fact a lotta of employers don’t pay people enough to afford a car?

If they had tried making some that people ACTUALLY WANTED, and were DEPENDABLE, and didn’t keel over in 50,000 miles and that people could AFFORD, they might have sold some!

If the American public didn’t switch to massive SUVs every time the gas price drops below $2.50 maybe the car companies could predict demand better…

I owned two Chevys/Lemons, never again. My parents used to work for GM, they gave up and turned their Buick in for a Honda. Wondered why they didn’t do it sooner.

Obama bailed out … let me rephrase that … economically stimulated out the auto industry saving jobs and he’s evil. Trump kills the industry with his tariffs and he’s a hero. Only in the new reality America – MAGA.

Are we all still winning with the Republican “trickle down” tax cut?

I saw this Cadillac station wagon SUV thing the other day, when the brake lights were on the word Escalade lit up over the top. A ridiculous way to prove you have more money than other people.

Instead of working for the transition to electric cars, the US will be the laggard, wondering why the more advanced nations won’t purchase their retro products. We ignore the potential dangers associated with fracking to enjoy low-cost energy, willfully ignoring the air and groundwater pollution for a temporary short-sighted gain. We seem not to care for our children with all the problems we are handing them.

Only a few countries in the world sport enough alternate forms of people movers that the numbers would impact automotive manufacturers. The US definitely is not among them.

False impression given here. The most popular vehicles in the U.S. are 1. crossovers, 2. sedans, 3. SUVs. Apparently, sedans are declining in numbers. GM is simply changing production away from them.

The writing has been on the wall for some time.. Vehicles last longer than they did ~20 years ago.. With all the packages.. to get the one thing you do want.. the vehicle is priced out of your price range.. Insurance rates are outrageous and parking costs an arm and a leg in some districts. So.. fewer and fewer people even get drivers licences and rely on public transportation.

I wish the massive vehicles were prohibited. No one in a normal size vehicle can see through them or around them.
