Governor Jerry Brown pointed out that far more FEDERAL land was burned in the recent fires after Trump slashed forest management budgets and that California has EXPANDED its forestry program.
About 60% of California forest land is managed by Trump’s federal government. About 33% is in private hands and only about 7% of forest land in California is managed by the state.
So if Trump wants to blame government policy (ignoring climate change), he is admitting the failure of HIS administration in forestry management.
When the president goes to speak to these people he should stick to these three questions:
1) Tell me who you are.
2) How are you doing?
3) What can I do to help?
That’s it. That’s how you demonstrate leadership. Show you care and find out what they need to get the job done. Give it to them and get the hell out of the way.
He has said Mexico and the US have a deal that Mexico will keep the “caravan” in Mexico. Mexico denies the agreement. What bothers me is someday he might have a legit issue that is serious and no one – no other country nor US citizens – will believe him or even give it a passing thought and then there could be trouble…
