On a separate note, what is he standing on in panel#3? Is it a giant football or some kind of field, I can’t tell for sure.

Having just seen 1978’s “Superman: The Movie” again recently, the first two panels are more than a little reminiscent of the “Smallville” sequence. ✨❤️✨
