over 25 years we had two German Shepards, one was dog aggressive and the other was protective of my wife. Never let them off the lease and they got walked 4 times a day. You definitely need to know your dogs, German Shepards are great dogs, but you need to know your dog. We now have a 85# Flat Coated Retriever and we Frisbee with her 4 times a day, no dog aggression and she is great with people. Definitely a different breed.
