Unusually bipartisan for Varvel. He probably didn’t think of it that way.

Voters are what really terrify Republicans.

That’s why they break their collective neck to suppress them.

And of course, they LIE about doing so.

We went yesterday and it was mobbed. They said they had over 1200 people the first day and expected to have even more then. I imagine after work would have been wild, especially as it was Friday.

He’ll be happier when there are Democrats in office and he can resume the ‘polar opposition’ role without being constantly embarrassed by the antics of his side when it’s in power.

I love Oregon’s voting by mail. No lines, no hassles, 100% confirmation, 100% recountable. And it’s cheaper.

    • Madness!

Conservatives (and the simple minded) actually believe that non-Americans are registering and voting here.

Last year a presidential voter fraud commission (backed by a Republican CIC, a Republican Congress, and a Republican SCOTUS) disbanded after failing to find any fraudulent voting anywhere in the United States.

There are more than two-hundred million American citizens eligible to vote, with perhaps half of them actually voting. The irony of using oppressed refugees (seeking asylum in a democracy, no less) for ‘get out the ’Amurican’ vote propaganda purposes is kinda bizarre.

    • Tantrum?

If only more of us were wise enough to inherit a zillion dollars (from a convicted felon, slumlord, KKK member, serial adulterating, tax cheating father – perhaps we could relax and enjoy the virtual raping of America by such a smart Man!

Revere1776: I’ve managed to become reasonably well off by hard work and saving (and a bit of luck). If my dad had been able to repeatedly give me $1M every time I cratered another business, I’d be Queen of the Universe by now. I’m not having a tantrum — I’m pointing out that we have a lying, cheating, dishonest, self-aggrandizing, fascist, dictator wannabe for a president and he’s destroying the country. He didn’t get where he is by any sort of hard work or honest dealings. You will be among the first to suffer when he gets everything he wants. Why are you supporting him and his cronies? Wake up!

But, wait. Did all those “so called voters” possess valid voter IDs? The ID with Trump’s picture on it?

One would think a big sign " Don’t like this line.. Vote Democrat" would do wonders.

What did I do in 2016? I helped raise my daughter, performed honest work, went to school, visited and helped family members in need, remained faithful to my wife… well, you could say I pretty much did what those commandments say.

‘Course, there’s no real money in that.

You know, I’m starting to realize it’s a waste of time and energy trying to enlighten them. The leftists don’t want to “take the red pill” and come out of their “matrix”.

This is indeed a serious conversation between two deep thinkers. Neutral observers, take note: This is how deep thinkers talk. The resemblance to MRA propaganda is merely the latest in an amazing series of coincidences.

“It’s really very easy for a non-citizen to register and vote, when no proof of citizenship is required.”

The fact that it’s “very easy” — at least in your jurisdiction (the rules and practices are not the same everywhere) — is not at all the same as “lots of people are doing it”.

Especially considering the current rhetoric from “the right”, I would expect that many (if not most) non-citizens presented with the opportunity would suspect an attempt to entrap them and thereby deport them, if they are indeed presented with the opportunity, as you say your wife was.

BUT… oddly enough, the US Constitution doesn’t say that non-citizens are denied the vote. It only says that citizens may not be denied the vote for any of several reasons. It wouldn’t surprised me to learn that there’s a law passed by Congress that says non-citizens are not allowed to vote, but so far I’m not aware of one.

As far as I know, aside from the Constitutional Amendments and the Voting Rights Act, all details of who is or isn’t allowed to vote and how elections are carried out are left to the individual states. So far, I’m not aware that any state has a law that explicitly gives non-citizens the vote, but I suspect that there are still some that don’t (yet?) have a law requiring US citizenship.
