I’m not sure the exact point you are making here Mr. Lester. I hope it is a statement against the Rump’s tacit approval of violence against reporters.

^ Yeah, “rolling back” regulations so that our children will breath foul air and drink impure water! Dismantling consumer protection!

Please don’t misinterpret. There is no equivalence between too many to count leftists mob attacks and what the POTUS said in Montana or the mob that screamed at Pelosi in Miami yesterday. I’m just calling it like I see it so don’t worry, you’ll hate me again soon enough.

    Assss-tonishing!

An actual Trump Disciple cartoonist acknowledging not only Trump’s advocacy of violence, but also his complicity in the Saudi murder.

    .

I give it a ‘like’, just for encouragement.

Andy makes the case for the Saudi murder being no big deal.

Except it is a big deal that he was an ‘editorialist’ and not a ‘journalist’ as defined by a Trump Disciple.

So, it’s no big deal if a government murders an editorialist enemy of the people, not like if they murdered a journalist enemy of the people.

    .

And, it’s especially no bigly deal if the president of the United States tries to help them cover it up. I mean, after all, the libtards hate it, so it must be a good thing.

    From Wikipedia:

According to The Spectator, “With almost two million Twitter followers, he was the most famous political pundit in the Arab world and a regular guest on the major TV news networks in Britain and the United States.” In 2018, Khashoggi established a new political party called Democracy for the Arab World Now, posing a political threat to Crown Prince Mohammed. He wrote in a Post column on 3 April 2018 that Saudi Arabia “should return to its pre-1979 climate, when the government restricted hard-line Wahhabi traditions. Women today should have the same rights as men. And all citizens should have the right to speak their minds without fear of imprisonment.”

Yeah, spoken like a true islamist.. NOT!

Another smear from Andy? Well, that’s not news … just editorializing…

If you would be interested in an outsider view of the Khashoggi case, there are two in Der Spiegel over the past few days.

    http://www.spiegel.de/international/

Of particular interest is an interview with a former FBI agent on the reason for targeting Khashoggi:

    http://www.spiegel.de/international/world/saudi-crown-prince-wanted-to-send-a-message-a-1234201.html

Unlike Andy, the writers for Der Spiegel do not get their “information” from US Right Wing propaganda sources…

I am wondering what exactly you folks find to be wrong with the facts I presented.

Since 2010, 261 journalists have been murdered world wide. 115 in the middle east. Aside for Khashoggi none of you can name a single victim without looking at the list below.

    https://cpj.org/data/killed/?status=Killed&motiveConfirmed%5B%5D=Confirmed&type%5B%5D=Journalist&typeOfDeath%5B%5D=Murder&start_year=2010&end_year=2018&group_by=year

I repeat. “If he hadn’t had an occasional column in the WaPo his murder wouldn’t have made it past page 16 here in the US.”

Most of you had no idea he even existed until his murder was reported. Unless you were regular readers of WaPo and took a more than passing interest in middle east internal politics, you likely never read any of his work. Without the WaPo connection his death would not have been headline news in the US.

There is absolutely no disputing his membership and association with the Brotherhood. The article below delves into his relationship with the Saudi royal family and government but it conforms my comment. The man was part of the Brotherhood.

    https://www.brookings.edu/blog/order-from-chaos/2018/10/19/on-jamal-khashoggi-the-muslim-brotherhood-and-saudi-arabia/

His columns with WaPo and “reporting” in Saudi Arabia have typically been pro-Brotherhood and critical of the Saudi leadership. His offerings have been almost exclusively political criticism pieces. He is an editorialize, NOT a reporter or journalist. You can disagree with my definition of “journalist” but you cannot disagree that his content is political opinion.

Whether you agree with it or not the Brotherhood has been designated a terrorist organization by Bahrain, Canada, Egypt, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Syria and and the UAE. Given the close ties between Hamas and The Brotherhood, I propose that their relationship is similar to that between the IRA and Sinn Fein. The Brotherhood being the political mouthpiece for Hamas.

Andy must not have read that last paragraph in the Brookings Blog:

It is merely to say that the story of the kingdom and the Brotherhood is not a simple morality play, and that those claiming Khashoggi’s Brotherhood sympathies as some kind of black mark reveal nothing so much as their ignorance of the kingdom, the region, and its history.

    And more from Wikipedia:

Khashoggi supported some of Crown Prince’s reforms, like allowing women to drive, but he condemned Saudi Arabia’s arrest of Loujain al-Hathloul, who was ranked third in the list of “Top 100 Most Powerful Arab Women 2015”, Eman al-Nafjan, Aziza al-Yousef, and several other women’s rights advocates involved in the women to drive movement and the anti male-guardianship campaign.

I guess Andy doesn’t know the Muslim Brotherhood’s stance on womens’ rights. For example:

    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/mar/15/muslim-brotherhood-backlash-un-womens-rights

The stupidity of Andy’s arguments is just amazing.

Should no one care, just because Daniel Pearl worked for the Wall Street Journal and it was his capture and murder by terrorists that made his name commonly known?

Did the Chinese who have been jailed or murdered by the state work for US papers? Should no one care because they did not?

Should no one care about the murdered James Foley because he was not widely known before that?

Should no one care about the murder of the cartoonists of Charlie Hebdo, just because most Americans never heard of the them before their murder?

Well, I suppose that for those who can never feel compassion for humans who are not members of their little tribe, this is often the case. Evil done to others just doesn’t count for snot with those sorry examples of humanity.

Andy’s moral compass continues to show through his sophistry. And once again, I have nothing but scorn for him.

Why are people surprised at Trump’s lack of concern? The victim was one of the “enemy of the people”. Right? Come on, Conservatives! Get back on message!!

President Trump’s concern or lack of concern has nothing to do with a Saudi national’s death in his own land (his Embassy is his own land.)

Each nation is a “law unto itself.”

I do not condone the man’s death, but I believe that Saudi Arabian police should handle it according to their laws.

The United States and the rest of the world should MYOB.

    It is NOT our concern.
