Almost as stupid as Flat Earther are the people who want to do away with time zones. If that happens, either half of the world will be going to work in the dark, or everyone will still be going to work in daylight, so you’ll need to calculate daylight differences without time zones to count.
Had a boss who used the hour difference like that. She was in the UK, I was in France so she put meetings at 5 pm UK time (6 pm for me) or called at 6 pm her time just as she left (or sometimes when she had left) for a last minute urgent question to make sure I stayed at the office until 7 pm.
