Once, on the base where I was stationed for a few months, there was a scandal when the PX discovered that one of the Wives was actually married to two Different guys at the same time.
It got More interesting when the Navy found out that Both Husbands knew about each other.
The guys were in the Blue & Gold crews of the same Submarine and were almost never both home at the same time since those crews alternate being out to sea.
It allows the Sub to stay at sea for a maximum amount of time. They go Out and stay out until they run out of Food. Then, they come in, Reload with fresh food, swap crews and away they go, back on patrol.
