Maybe you’ll have better luck with the inevitable “Miami Vice” reboot, Arlo.

I saw the legs in the first panel and thought it was a woman then I looked up and saw it was Arlo. Not a good look Arlo not a good look.

New Higgins is prettier than old Higgins.

Very short shorts indeed! And never noticed Arlo has a pot belly!

They knew that they’d never find a guy that would be the same as John Hillerman so they went with a woman instead. Although the temperaments are very similar.

Magnum, Will & Grace, Hawaii 5-0, et al. Putting a ‘new spin’ on an old show just shows how low the level originality is right now.

Food for thought; John Hillerman was actually from Texas.

Not released in the uk, but looked it up. Copying Elementary with the regendering – mind you that works…

It’s not that good. I’d rather see the original over the new one.

You can’t pull off that Selleck look, Arlo.

They have changed the story line. In the old one, Higgins was Robin Masters but in the new one, one served in Afghanistan and the other didn’t so they are two different people now.

You cant go home again. And certainly not in the same styles made famous on an old beloved show.

One thing that hasn’t changed is the obligatory car chase with very expensive cars. Robin Masters is extremely rich!

Perdita Weeks plays Higgins. Her sister played Samantha (Sam) in Foyle’s War.

The NEW show? A total waste of air time. Tom Selleck he ain’t! A floating mustache and no body would be a better casting decision. The best actors in the cast are the Dobermans!

John Cleese? I love him. Python, Fawlty Towers and now he was just on the TV show Speechless in all his shouting glory. I was shocked and delighted to see him on American TV

Perdita Weeks is much prettier!

I have the official “Magnum PI” Paradise lost red with parrots shirt. Looking for the second version green with parrots. I found mine at a yard sale I felt like Indiana Jones.

I love Arlo’s shirt — I wear lots of Hawaiian shirts since I moved to the south. But the shorts and legs issue worries me a bit. Best not to look.

It is interesting to note that there are complaints about lack of originality and that it is DIFFERENT!

Never satisfied…

While I liked “Magnum P.I.”, I thought “Simon & Simon” was superior and of a similar vein and time frame.

Watched the 1st new episode of Magnum, gave it a 5/10.

Arlo does have Magnum’s skinny legs tho’.

Back in 2015 I bought the entire “Magnum P.I.” box set DVD collection from Amazon. I have no desire to see what has been done (poorly, I would guess from what I’ve heard) to a classic by the entertainment industry.

And… Arlo is getting a little soft around the middle!
