Sounds like a fine price to pay to protect all citizen’s right not to be raped.

It HAS been suggested that a huge percentage of CEOs are at the very least sociopaths, so…yeah (although using an absolute such as “ALL” is very bad form when making an argument, Mr. Rall).

Or at least they were accused of rape. Which is apparently enough these days. I guess “Innocent until proven guilty” was just another one of those little inconveniences. Like the Constitution was.

The estimate of 4% is rather high – the criterion used by the psychologist promoting her book about it was, to me (as a psychological researcher myself), completely bogus.

However, sociopathic traits seem to be in about 2.5-3% of men reliably. CEOs have been measured at higher rates. That doesn’t mean good CEOs are sociopathic; it DOES mean that there are times where sociopathy can benefit a person seeking top corporate office, and I think there are times when it can make for an effective executive. But not over the long term. Over the long term, having empathy (and Emotional Intelligence generally) is a crucial trait for effective leaders.

Note that #45 is not an effective leader, nor was he ever a large-scale, long-term CEO (the Trump Organization has about 20 people).

If.. only rapists and thugs can save your company.. perhaps it better for society that it fail.

Be interesting if candidates were evaluated based only on the characteristics directly relevant to their jobs. If that were the case, Kavanaugh would have been booted out the door even when applying for Judge Judy’s job. For the Supreme Court, he’d have been jailed for 10 years for flagrantly violating common sense and decency.

CEOs that do not have emotional intelligence and that tend to be sociopaths look at short-term gains and do not work for the long-term health of their companies, nor do they care at all about their employees. Look at how many companies have folded or are in the process of collapsing. Hostess execs gave themselves enormous bonuses while cutting the pay of their workers; the execs should have been working on developing new products for a changing market . Sears Eddie Lampert had departments compete with each other for development projects and ad space rather than benefiting from cooperation. Tech companies are jumping from one security scandal to the next. Companies outsource their IT support to India so there isn’t anyone at the company that understands how their systems work; maintenance, upgrades and changes take far longer and are more problematic because the company gave away their intellectual property.

The week in patriarchy Brett Kavanaugh

The Kavanaugh hearing proves yet again the US hates women

    Arwa Mahdawi

Republicans rallying around Kavanaugh shouldn’t expect women to accept that without a fight: patriarchy is on borrowed time.

Even before the sexual assault allegations, we weren’t hearing about the vast majority of Kavanaugh’s judicial views and writings. Then, we had the sexual allegations and heavy drinking mess of the last week. What will we learn from a limited FBI investigation controlled by the GOP? Maybe Collins and Murkowski will vote against him, but I wouldn’t bet on it. All of this, despite his tantrum and snapping and blatant lying at the hearing.

Idiot baby Trump, the republican CEO of the United States

Dr. Frank and I discuss Donald Trump’s various mental pathologies, how they are rooted in his childhood and the fact that Trump is the first president who is an adult baby. Dr. Frank also explains how Donald Trump’s greatest power is the permission he gives his followers to hate their enemies and to show disgust and contempt towards civilization and normal society. And Dr. Frank warns the American people and the world that Donald Trump exhibits signs of sociopathy and will never change his temperament or behavior.

Only 2% of rape/assault claims are fraudulent. Plus, only about 40% of rape are reported (that doesn’t mean they are believed or prosecuted) https://web.stanford.edu/group/maan/cgi-bin/?page_id=297

Mr. Rall, if you wanted to make half a point here, you could have said, “accused of rape.” It still would be a wild exaggeration, but not completely pointless.
