Gotta be careful with that blue wave special. There was a problem at the factory, and more than a few of the units are actually red right down to the core with a thin blue veneer taped on to it. Make sure the one you pick is true blue through and through.
Not only is that new F150 or Silverado more expensive (tariffs on steel and aluminum) but the prices for soybeans and corn are going down, since China isn’t buying from US farmers.
Don’t forget in terms of sexual harassers and those who commit sexual assault, he only approves of the accused! Makes sense since he has been a serial harasser and has multiple victims of sexual assault in his past. Why should his scotus nominee be any different? It is all about him. Dr. Ford has asked that there be a thorough investigation before the hearing next week, which makes sense in order to avoid the shameful fiasco that we saw in the Anita Hill hearing, with the deck entirely stacked against her. If they proceed without Dr. Ford, there will be an empty chair with her name on it, the optics of which will be very bad, hopefully bad enough to jeopardize the confirmation.
Confused about all these tariffs. Who.. gets those billions that each country “charges”.. If that money goes into the government tax coffers.. is that not a good thing? Raise them more and pay off the national debt. Mind the cost of the product will go up some.. but market forces will cause the price to stay the same..corporate profits might go down a tad but evidently they are doing pretty good and can handle the loss. And.. if some products end up costing more than the consumer will pay… well we have too many choices already and the loss of a few might be a good thing.
A word of warning about unforeseen consequences (at least, unforeseen by Trump):
“Since trade tensions between the United States and China began to soar this year, China’s markets have lost 20 percent, its currency has wobbled and exports have decelerated.
But China is gaining something else: friends.
Under pressure from President Trump’s tariff war, China has embarked on a charm offensive on the diplomatic circuit, smoothing over old disputes and courting partners who could help Beijing weather the storm with Washington.
…
But as Trump pulls America into self-imposed isolation, Xi isn’t wasting time. He gave a major speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos last year, the first appearance by a Chinese leader, where he presented himself as a champion of free trade and attributed China’s economic miracle to market reform and opening up. Next week, China’s No. 2, Premier Li Keqiang, is set to repeat the message in an address to the “Summer Davos” crowd in Tianjin.
Li will probably hit notes of “shared prosperity” and “shared values,” but in truth, the message is really about the White House and its trade policies: in other words, a shared threat.
Historically, that’s typically been an effective reason for building alliances."
The squeeze on the purse and the big squeeze that’s coming will wake a few trumpers, but most will still wallow in their vat of denial, watch fox and claim that the Democrats have made them much poorer than when their dear leader was installed.
