Kavanaugh must remember that he did abuse alcohol as a teenager. His friend Judge, the other boy present at the incident, has even written a book about it (“Wasted”). That said, I can believe that the event remembered by Ford would not be remembered by the two men because it was just one of a series of drunk sprees, not particularly traumatic for them (except maybe in the hangovers), but very traumatic for her (and thus remembered). If Kavanaugh were really honest and a responsible adult, he would admit that there might be episodes in his youth, like this one, that he does not remember, and he would apologize for it. If he cannot even admit to such a possibility, I would judge him unfit for the court.
Sooooo, the man abused alcohol to the point that he blacks out….apparently often….or is that the excuse used to get out of jeopardy for criminal behaviour?? The GOP needs to take a look at just what character flaws they are willing to accept in a candidate for a lifetime appointment on the Supreme Court Bench….or are they sooooooo eager to pad all future judgements that they will accept the dregs of affluencia to make sure they themselves will always be protected from prosecution…..???
