Mop, the shank you predicted came a day early. What the strip leaves out is that Freddy was punting from the Milford 40. That was a hell of a shank.

Gil sounds like Robert Stack in Airplane just before he said “He’ll kill them all.”

P1, I remember Joe Theisman’s one attempt at punting. They gave him credit for a one-yard kick but that thing went backwards.

P2, I’m assuming that’s the goalpost. Did Marty Moon paint the lines on the field?

P3, Forget the last one, Freddy. Relax. Be Malouf.

P2 Great sense of proportion by the artist, you can’t tell which way this guy is really running. Looks like the fence angles enough to cut off part of the left end zone. Receiver is holding the ball like a loaf of bread. He will cough it up later in the game at a key point!!!

In all reality , P3 , Gil with a crazed look on his face encourages Freddo only putting more pressure on him .

Relax Thorpians. Tod Andrews coached teams have defeated GilPa maybe 3 times over the past 25 years.

Prediction: Following a disasterous outing at Oakwood, Gil will abandon the punt completely, opting to always go for it on 4th down, no matter what the field position is, ala Kevin Kelly and Pulaski Academy. This unorthodox strategy will win the Valley Coference but ultimately fail in the “Play-downs.”

P1 – Well considering that Freddy probably punctured his foot on that spiked end of the football, it wasn’t that bad.

P2 – “Well hello there reader! Are you impressed with my athletic ability? I probably should be paying more attention to the field as I’m about to run out of bounds.”

P3 – “Gee thanks coach, for putting more pressure on me.”

I’m surprised Gil didn’t tell him not to get the kick blocked.

P4 – “And whatever you do, don’t fumble the snap!!!”

Did y’all see Seattle use the punter for place kicking last Sunday. Once on a kick off where there’d been a penalty assessed. And the other time for an onside kick try.

Let’s not let visions of the Valley and State Championship ďance too wildly , fellow Milford gridiron fans. How many forfeits does Milford have due to starting the season late!I in all reality ?

I just unloaded a bunch of old paperbacks at one of those free little libraries. I felt like one might feel if they were dumping an old mattress into a ravine. Made sure no one was looking first and then made a run for it.
