My wife and I do a lot of nothing together and we enjoy each other’s company while not doing it.

I just hate those days when I wake up as grumpy and out of sorts as Calvin is. Fortunately it doesn’t happen all that often.

Marriage is vastly overrated – mostly by all the firms that make a killing selling weddings.

I’m with Calvin on this one. More often than not, animals make far better company than people when it comes to admiring nature.

To yesterday: When you are married or in a deeper connection with somebody, it’s not good to have 0ne friend besides, it must be many friends, more are not dangerous!!

The two stupidest people in the world had Calvin and that makes Calvin what?

Calvin sure needed Hobbes to turn that frown upside down.

Marriage is an institution. And who wants to live in an institution?

I love Hobbes. He’s the best in all of us, and his expression in the second to last panel is priceless and sweet. Would that we could all be like him. :) “A soft answer turneth away wrath”.

One of those strips that reminds you that Watterson is the true master of the art form. Meaningful, poignant, and doesn’t dumb it down for any audience. Hobbes even acknowledges some of Calvin’s point.
