We had a dozen or so kinds of bees around here, all native except the honeybee.

You can also thank them for stinging you, too!

around here this time of year, if bumblebees get caught in the late day/evening chilly air — you will find them dormant on flowers in the morning. once the sun hits them, you can watch them come back to life.

We can thank bees for all the vegetables, fruits, flowers and nuts that we get from trees. Without bees we would lose 80% of our fruits and veggies and have famine that would seriously make a dent in the human population.

You’re forgetting the other insects that pollinate

I would have said you can thank the bees for food. The kid should know that the meat he likes to eat and the cheese etc. would not be possible without foliage of some sort.

    Fruit more than vegetables.
