Don’t let those who want to deny the rights of every eligible voter put up roadblocks that are too difficult to navigate. Anyone having difficulty navigating the maze should contact local Democratic and civil rights organizations who will be glad to provide guidance and assistance in getting through the process and help with obtaining documents.
Glad to live in a Blue State where we honor the Constitution and make voter registration (and voting) as easy as possible.
As long as I’m breathing and walking I’ll be at the polls. I have a sacred duty to those who died to save this country from the enemy to get my bum up there.
@mikefive Whether it is a distortion of reality will be learned in three months. But if your point is that the true exit won’t be found until 2020, then I agree with you.
The right’s fear of losing status has found a champion in Trump who they feel will save them from diversity, meritocracy, and equality, have not yet realized that every right turn is a dead end.
What makes anyone think that anything will change with the upcoming elections. One must remember we are dealing with the America public who are too lazy to get of the their asses, put down their stupid phones, and do something constructive. Starting in January it will be more of the same and everyone will still be at each others throat when they could have done something to at least start to fix the mess. we are an empire in decline just like all other empires in the world history. complacency and loath were the main causes then and now.
Waitr Your sacred duty to those who have died for this country requires you to vote. Granted, but that isn’t irrelevant compared to your sacred duty to those who are going to be born in this country to do exactly the same thing.
I volunteer with a campaign and have access to Votebuilder, the Democratic database of registered voters. We are receiving donations from people who are not registered voters— if they were they would be on the list, because it is the same info that the election boards have in each jurisdiction. It seems unlikely to me that someone who donates isn’t interested enough to have registered to vote, so I have suspicions about their omission. You can look up your country election board online at most places, and make sure your name is listed ( and find out about your neighbors while you’re at it). It’s all public record. If your county doesn’t have the names listed, you will at least be able to get a phone number and call them to be sure you are on the list. Don’t assume that you are registered. Voter purges occur regularly, and if you show up to vote and aren’t registered, it’s going to be too late.
Be sure to get a map at your local court house when you stop by to register or to make sure the Republicans haven’t removed you from the voter rolls, if you are registered to vote (you may even be able to register or check online in more progressive states). Find out about getting an absentee ballot so you can mail it in. The Republicans may have closed your polling place by Nov. That’s easier than waiting in line or being held up so you don’t make it to the polls on time. Vote Nov 6, 2018. This is the most important election in history for this country. We must remove as many Republican Trump enablers from office as possible. Vote Democratic. Enough is enough!
Nigh-Gaunt49 You might want to wait and see what the other choice is. I would have thought I would slit my wrists before I voted for Hillary before I found out that Trump was the other choice, so I just voted and then threw up.
