And he doesn’t have to hear her carping at him. Win-Win.

Perhaps, just perhaps, she could suggest an activity they could do together. They get along okay….sort of. Encourage him to start a hobby. THey could get a divorce and he’d find someone who loves having him around. A guy doesn’t need to live with an attitude like this around him constantly.

Efficiency no longer needs to be in your vocabulary once you are a retiree.

Earl must of worked in government. By watering the grass it will now grow faster and longer. Now he will have to cut the grass more often thus creating more work. And the beat goes on.

Actually water-use wise watering directly with a hose is the most efficient as it puts all the water were you want it; in ground sprinklers are the most inefficient as the water is too fine a mist and most of it will blow away or evaporate before it get to the grass/plants-

The thing about exercise, see, is that it’s usually one of the least efficient ways of doing the thing you’re doing in order to get it.

Sprinklers aren’t very efficient. Unless you water in the early morning or during the night, a lot of the water just evaporates before hitting the ground.

I’ve installed seven drip systems and my wife still hand-waters … every day.

Actually, the most inefficient way to water a lawn is to keep running out from the kitchen faucet with a teaspoon at a time.

I remember my dad standing for hours watering the lawn. I think now it was just his way of getting away from kids, patients, and city council problems

Hand watering avoids the image of sprinklers watering the lawn in the rain.

In Arizona, I had a drip system installed around the plants and vegetables. Very efficient and saved on precious water.

I used the same type of system in Florida for those periods where we didn’t get a lot of rain.

I NEVER wasted water on a lawn !

There’s just something fun about shooting water out of a hose. I’m sure Freud would have a reason why.

Efficiency is output divided by input. She got plenty of desired output for the cost of water.
