“If I Had a Boat” is one of my favorite songs, and the Boston Light Swim is one of my favorite days of the year. I’m not competing in it this year — it’s a tough race to get into — but rather crewing for a friend, which essentially means standing on the boat throwing food at him at prescribed intervals. It’s kind of like working at Sea World, but more ethical.
