Mr. Kelly’s idea of “make America great” is every man, woman, and child for themselves. Any hint of helping the less fortunate is absolute communism.

Mr. Kelly is feeding off of the ignorance conservatives continue to manufacture for their base of the lowest common-denominator. The rest of us know the difference between Democratic Socialism and the National Socialism that the people of eastern Europe suffered through. And it is a losing battle for conservative leaders attempting to maintain the illusion that their Trump-inspired Fascism is the answer to the abject poverty their conservative supporters are beginning to realize is coming directly from Trump and the Republicans.

Typical Steve Kelley failure to understand issues. PROgressives do not want to make America Venezuela (or Soviet USSR [that would be the Putin / KGB / TRUMPski cabal] or Cuba). None of those countries represent democratic socialism, they are top-down authoritarian dictatorships. If Kelley does not understand that, he is way over his head with political cartoons.

Democratic mixed socialist/regulated market economies such as what FDR used to successfully get us out of the Great Depression are better represented by Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Iceland or New Zealand, some of the most successful countries on earth with very happy, contented citizens.

Kelley wants to make America pre-1929 again. Because that’s when the economy was great.

It’s just another lie from a Trump Disciple cartoonist. Making America Great Again by lying about every issue.

Fear-mongering is the Repooplican’s favorite method of voter base mind control. Every dictatorship in history has used this method.

Poor Mr. Kelly, he can’t tell the difference between National Socialism and Socialism. Let us help him. In National Socialism the ruling elite imprison people for no reason, steal from the poor, and lie all the time. The people are divided by stupid issues [and cartoonists] in order that the rich get richer, even though they do nothing. In Socialism, it is just the opposite. Equating Venezuela with Socialism is as correct as calling Trump a vegetarian [apologies to vegetarians]. Maybe, you might look at some of the European models where studies have shown people to be happiest. But of course, that would take effort on Mr. Kelley’s part, so it ain’t going to happen.

Kelley, Democratic Socialism promotes supporting the basic needs for all in a society. It is ridiculous that a wealthy country like the US wouldn’t support the people who need it.

From what I’ve been seeing it looks like this is going to be the line of attack for Republicans. People who don’t want to or have time to look at things deeply are going to fall for this I’m afraid.

Again with the Socialism? I Equate DEMOCRATIC socialism with Finland, the nation with highest standard of living in the world. Venezuela is screwed because it is Dictatorship not because it claims to be Socialist. My biggest concern is the Elephant heading down his extreme path and devolving into Fascism. Fascism, killing unions, end of press freedoms. Government partnering with corporations to control citizens, We are way closer to the GOP extreme of fascism that the Dems extreme of dictatorial socialism.

A – We are not Venezuela. We have power and resources that they can’t even imagine. The only thing holding us back from anything is ignorance and cowardice.

B – Clearly your 1917 (or 1957) idea of socialism is outdated and out of touch. America has had ‘socialistic’ programs since before the American Revolution.

The US Post Office, public schools, public libraries, public roads, the Apollo Project, Hoover Dam, the TVA. All could be given as examples of “American Socialism”.

Whenever the government does something that the private sector could do, that’s a form of socialism.

The Republicans / trumps party don’t want to acknowledge there is middle common sense ground. The 2nd amendment does not need to be “taken away” to realize there are things wrong with the current situation. The immigration issue has common sense solutions. Abortion is necessary in some cases.. But fear mongering, coming up with worst case examples works.. at the expense of Americas reputation.

A dictatorship is a dictatorship… it doesn’t matter if that dictator claims to run a capitalist, socialist, or communist economy… what matters is that it is a dictatorship.

Venezuela has become a dictatorship, and that is what the problem is. If you blame that on socialism, then you have a very weak understanding of the difference between a political model and an economic model.

Just an explanation for neverright, et al; having a security clearance does not mean that you have access to information. For access to secure information, you need both the correct clearance and the need to know. If you have a need to know, but do not have the clearance, the person in control of the information can, at his or her discretion, make it available to you.

What is important is that these people are available, in emergency situations, to be brought on board, if necessary.

Trump is having a hissy fit because these people have clearances while so many in his administration don’t, and, worse yet, they said bad things about him/

Communism and it’s evil half-sibling socialism are for everyone except the communists and socialists themselves. No way are THEY going to live the way they would happily force the rest of US to live, nosiree! They’ll be fat-catting it in their secured apartment buildings and gated communities patrolled by armed guards 24/7, I guarantee!

Venezuela is a corrupt and incompetent dictatorship that calls itself socialist. It is NOT socialist. There is a huge difference, but these differences don’t exist for right wingers. If you disagree with these RWNJs you are the worst thing they can think of. Isn’t that right Mr. Kelley?

Whoa! Steve, you’ve been overdosing on Faux News again. Socialism is a military budget that is many times what the total of all other countries spend. Socialism is highways for commerce and for everyone to use. Socialism is government regulations on food, drugs, chemicals, what you can put into the air and water we all share and many other things that serve the public interest. The list goes on. We already have socialism. We humans are social animals and we tend to stick together. Unfortunately the right wing propaganda machine with lots of help from the Russian propaganda machine is fogging the minds of many Americans. This cartoon is an example of a fogged mind. America needs leadership that joins us together not divides us. Unfortunately we have a party that has become the party of division. We all need to fix this. This cartoon is a divider!

This comic is rich with irony. First the only party I see practicing Socialism is the trump republicans. I mean c’mon 45 starts a trade war with just about every country except Russia and now he doles out $12 Billion to the Farmers getting crushed by his stupid tariffs. He’s only compensating them because those states voted for him. Talk about picking winners and losers. And then what’s this Make America Great Again all about ? From my perspective and many others it looks more like Make Russia Great Again. What hypocrisy coming from the Alt Right

Putin would be the first to admit that extreme socialism (communism) doesn’t work. However, he and Trump might agree that organized crime does.
