I suspect that is not how Biden sees himself when he looks In the mirror, nor when he looks at poll numbers. He’s been in politics a long time.

Fine advice for those not already trapped there by the poor decision they made of being born in Gaza. Some brave souls feel compelled to enter war zones to help those in distress while others sit on their couches and self-righteously criticize those people for their “stupidity” that can result in their injuries or deaths. (The real stupidity is that of the types of people who attack aid workers believing their actions are somehow justifiable.) I have great respect for one of those types of people.

I don’t know where you heard that, but in actuality, FDR, who got the 1938 Fair Labor Standards Act passed, did intend the minimum wage to be a living wage. He said so himself: “It seems to me to be equally plain that no business which depends for existence on paying less than living wages to its workers has any right to continue in this country. By ‘business’ I mean the whole of commerce as well as the whole of industry; by workers I mean all workers, the white-collar class as well as the men in overalls; and by living wages, I mean more than a bare subsistence level-I mean the wages of decent living.”

Thank you for including the link to that article. You may want to read it more carefully though. It refutes your claim about allowing 5000 illegals per day: “The bipartisan deal does include provisions that would shut down the border entirely if a certain threshold is hit, but those are border encounters, not crossings. As noted above, no migrants trying to enter the U.S. illegally would be allowed into the country unless they passed asylum interviews or were being held under government supervision.”

Seems like this cartoonist doesn’t understand the difference between “climate” and “weather.”

The GX_P2V strain comes from pangolins. Does that make it a “mutant strain?” I don’t know, but calling it a “mutant strain” is far more sensationalist than calling it a “pangolin strain.” ACE2-transgenic mice have more receptors for COVID than humans, and are particularly susceptible to this variant, much moreso than humans. A 2023 study found that vaccinated individuals have greater immunity to the pangolin strain. Not saying that experimenting with GX_P2V is a good idea, but it is the sort of thing that scientists tend to do. It’s just another reason to get vaccinated.
