Using Uber is paying to hitchhike: You stick out your electronic thumb, and someone may or may not come. If they do, they may give you a safe, pleasant ride to your destination, or they may rob you, rape you, and bury you in a cornfield.
Going somewhere? Call a legitimate taxi; unlike “ride-sharing”, taxis (at least here) are licensed, inspected, insured, and the driver has undergone a fingerprint criminal background check. This is for your safety.
Plus, taxi drivers aren’t exploited by their employed to anywhere the extent Uber drivers are.
