Last year I was on a road trip and stopped at a McDonald’s. The place was crowded and it took 35 minutes to get my order of two hamburgers. I got in my car and discovered they got my order wrong and they had made two cheeseburgers instead.
They used to have the burgers ready-made, warming in a tray so you could get your food right away. Now they make everything per order and it takes so much longer. Ugh.
A couple years ago we stopped at a Chick-A-Fil that was crazy busy. We went through the drive through and finally got our sandwiches. We didn’t make any special orders, but there were several mistakes. The funniest mistake was made on my order — it didn’t have any buns!
The last time I was in a McD’s was about 40 years ago. 30 minute lunch break. Ordered a plain quarter-pounder and a milk shake. Of course the burger had to be made specially since I don’t care for ketchup. The milk shake is made immediately, put on a tray, and the tray is put under the hot lamp. A few minutes later, the burger is ready. Raw in the middle. So what I got was a badly overcooked milkshake and a badly under cooked hamburger. Yum.
I remember one of the local McD franchises was having a special – “Shake Day”. So I stopped in for a shake. I was informed of the following – “Shake machine out of order. Special part had to be ordered. Unknown when shake machine would be working.”
