If the GOP seriously thinks they will lose Congress, they will do one of the following:a. Start a wag the dog war.b. Hack the voting machines.c. All of the above.
Trumpster work a miracle!?!?!?!?!?!? So far all he has done are his Diplomatic Yells of Little Rocket Man and MY Button is Bigger Than YOUR Button. Left the world holding its breath. South Korea stepped up to the plate and began talks with N. Korea about the Olympics which has evolved into the Nuclear talks. Trump has NOT even met Kim yet and people are nervous that he undo all of the good when he does meet him. South Korea is MORE than generous in giving all of the credit to Trump.
As to “requiring” people to buy some health insurance: I can have a drivers’ license in my state, but I cannot legally register (own) an automobile without proof of current valid automobile insurance. But my rates are based on my own driving record (along with some actuarial tweaking for others in my age group). My tax rates, however, also calculate in costs for the treatment of uninsured patients. But I guess that’s all right, since insurance companies are benefiting from this marvelous “tax reform.” But all my insurance premiums, both health and auto, are mysteriously still increasing, more than erasing any “tax savings” I was supposed to receive. But not being in the upper 10%, I suppose I should be thankful for any crumbs.
Obamacare did not include the public option because they couldn’t get the votes for it. They passed what they could pass, after we had been trying to pass a health care bill since the New Deal. Now, we are not trying to get just anything that will get through congress. Something that can be characterized as a health care bill is a given. And, when we get rid of Trump, we can improve what Obama was able to accomplish, instead of starting with nothing like he did.
In the last year before O-Care I had an full major med individual plan with $3000 out of pocket and a network directory of over 600 pages. My premium was $290 per month.
This year my out of pocket is in excess of $7000. The network directory is 140 pages, for the entire state of Wisconsin. My premium is $900. 2/3 of major medical groups and hospitals in my area are no longer even covered, not even at “out of network” rates (except for emergency treatments).
Tell me again why I’m supposed to be happy about this.

They won’t vote blue unless the Democrats come up with a cohesive platform that goes a little further than “we’re not Trump”.

This is totally unrealistic. If anything, the GOP wants fewer people to vote! If they got their way no one would be able to vote at all!

Rs FOUL THEIR OWN NEST – {limerick}
The Rs have fouled their own nest;

Do the people who gave the wrong answer to “Did you vote for Trump?”, still get a ride?

Since Republicans are actually a minority,
they do everything they can to stop dems from going to the polls.
If Dems would just vote we could be rid of this Republican scourge.

The GOP picks up voters in a bus to drive them off a cliff. The last thing they want is people coming out to vote in 2018!
