The tri-state area? Try sending Heinz Doofenschmirtz to a unicorn trial!

Yes, humans are generally bad, Phoebe, and we have countless reasons to confirm it.

I would prefer that Phoebe be a representable sampling of humans than some adults out there.

We’re not bad, but we’re not good either.

That kind of attitude would only confirm Clip-Clop’s opinion of humanity.

ahem….Pheobe Howell has apparently been injected with the “I-want-to-be-offended” virus and is not currently available for representations of Humanity. We will advise you when she has recuperated.

All kidding aside, the smaller the group you belong to, the more people perceive you as representing that group. Humans are hardly scarce, but if unicorns rarely interact with them, they’ll have the same problem.

This leads to some interesting thinking about stereotypes and role models. Are some teenagers (for instance) supposed to represent ALL teenagers? Is any black person in a news story unfairly taken to represent all black people? As Hercule Poirot might say, it gives the mind furiously to think…

Tri-State area? Which one? I live in the tribe-state area: California, Arizona and Nevada.

I think I’d be flattered to be called one of the good ones.

Maybe she should introduce them to Phineas and Furb!

If the world of this comic strip suddenly intersected with that of Peanuts, Lucy would be upset if she wasn’t “asked” to represent all of humanity, Charlie Brown would probably run away from it, Linus would likely accept it with reluctance, pointing out humanity’s positive as well as negative attributes…and the unicorns might see Snoopy as an ideal for humanity to strive for.
