Seriously, still far to go, even a blind man can see that there is no racial inequality with the civil rights and the fact that there are many programs that are offered only to the black community such as government and private business loans along with certain college scholarship programs and the fact that people of color have their own associations just for blacks such as the black congressional counsel or black accountants of America just to name a few. We need to stop this “everybody except for the devil whites” is a victim culture and acknowledge the merits of the person and not say oh they are great or are oppressed because of their color because this isn’t true.
@rotary12…huh? OK, just answer two simple questions:
1. Explain the motivation behind the trump claims that President Obama was not born in the US. The whole birther nonsense. What was that about if not boldfaced racism?
2. Explain the very nice people who are Nazis and why they would want to support statues celebrating a treasonous rebellion. You do know the Civil War was a treasonous rebellion, right? And that it was fought over enslavement of black people. You knew that right?
Although, maybe they don’t teach much American history in Russia, rotary12.
Probably not much point trying to educate you (it would be the equivalent of trying to teach an ameoba about whales), but here we go: Obama did NOTHING to divide the country, although it is perfectly true that he committed the “crime” of being president while black. Which did divide the country into ancients and moderns…….Trump’s entire campaign, meanwhile, was “us vs. them” (with the Russians obviously being part of the “us”, at least as far as Trump and Flynn and Manafort and Jared and Don Jr. and others to be named later were concerned).
Barrack Obama single-handedly set race relations back almost 50 years. His rhetoric and policy essentially threw gasoline on the embers of race hatred.
Andy, Pres. Obama exposed the race hatred and fear that had been unresolved by being elected. It was used by his opponents to farther their goals. The fact he was elected shows how far race relations had improved. Just as the right/conservative/regressives are using the youth of those now working for gun regulations as a reason not to listen to them.
This editorial cartoon makes me quiver. Only this time, this time, it is prompted not be seeing the fallen figure but by the ambiguous sign all point to.

So far to go because MLK’s message has been co-opted and changed to the exact opposite of what his dream was.

Who profited from the murders by gun of JFK, RFK and MLK?
The Republicans, especially Nixon.
