That’s exactly how global warming threatens the planet. It’s called “extreme weather event” and they’re not all cold. Just ask those folks in California.

Henry is just exercising perfect Trump Disciple logic:

Record cold in Erie cancels out the hurricane in Puerto Rico.

    And Katrina.

    And Rita.

Ah, well. As the vinegary German proverb has it, Nur der Tod heilt den Buckler—“Only death cures the hunchback”.

What the republicans (and Trump) work very hard to ignore is that global warming means that the AVERAGE temperature of the ENTIRE PLANET rises, not that every spot on the planet gets warmer. Just as a person with a high fever can have body parts with low temperatures if the body circulation is affected. Climate scientists have stated that global warming interferes with the thermo-haline convection system which causes changes to the temperature and weather around the globe.

Of course, understanding this requires recognition of what science is and how logic works.

The worst part of seeing a pundit put his ignorance on display is that it reinforces the ignorance of those who use that pundit to support their views.

Ignorant Mr. Payne doesn’t seem to understand how greenhouse gasses accumulating beneath the ionosphere act like a high-pressure system to prevent heat from entering the atmosphere during the winter – making it colder than normal – and prevents heat from dissipating during the summer – making it hotter.

It looks as though Mr. Payne’s flat-Earth society meetings decided to discuss climate change.

How ignorant, Mr. Payne. You don’t know the difference between climate and weather.

This is not the first time Mr. Payne did a comic like this. Those who say ’being cold outside proves the falsehood of global warming’, show that, no matter how many times one explains the difference climate and weather, these people are too thick to understand that.

Is there any reason to think that Payne (or Trump) will learn anything? It’s quite shocking, really, to see such a display of proud stupidity.

Republicans are bound and determined to remain willfully stupid because the truth would make them change their ways and they would rather destroy the world.
