After a single successful year, the Cubs will get to continue an entirely new century of futility! This is why being a Cubs fan has made me strong. I was so inured to failure, that anything that was even a minuscule success was wonderful!
As I look out my office window at the two inches of snow in the yard and the 1F temperature (Ashland, VA, just north of Richmond), I’m reminded why I tolerate this time of year. Wednesday I drop by the Richmond Flying Squirrels (AA ball) office to talk about my block of season tickets for this year.
People whining about losing teams! How about San Diego? They lost the Clippers, and now the Chargers. I’m wondering what’s gonna happen with the Padres.

the Red Sox have an equivalent event. “Truck Day” is when the equipment truck leaves Fenway Park for spring training.

This is SO my husband. I have to hear every day about how long until spring training. In one ear and out the other.
I saw on the news, a team training in the snow and trying not to fall on the ice. Ridiculous!
