Funny how the super-rich receive all the direct benefits of this ‘plan’.

While anyone not in the 1% is supposed to wait for the indirect benefits of a ‘super-charged’ economy…

If the super-rich reinvest in more jobs, and

if the economy grows at a better than 3% rate, and

if this ‘plan’ doesn’t actually cause a recession / depression.

As I commented on another ’toon, some cartoonists are more interested in being “clever” than in being honest.

Thanks for the laugh Ramirez. Man…you really have no idea how micro and macro economics works do you? With one of the lowest tax rates on the planet already do you really believe that gutting the life-blood of the federal government and bleeding the middle class even more will create jobs and boost economic growth? Or, better yet, tell me, when did trickle down economics ever work? That little bump that Reagan achieved fell apart very rapidly because it failed to support long term growth. Small minded people who live for instant gratification always fail and fail and fail again as you right-wingers keep proving over and over again. But hey…keep up the laughs and keep proving the demographics that show that Republicans are sorely undereducated.

I know when I want a honest & unbiased source for information on business tax rates, I go to a business lobbying group’s website!

    Oh… wait….

The American Chemistry Council, formerly known as the Manufacturing Chemists’ Association and then as the Chemical Manufacturers’ Association, is an industry trade association for American chemical companies, based in Washington, D.C

Usually it is the non-business owners who complain about corporations not paying enough taxes. If the majority of them owned a business, it wouldn’t be long before they’d be bitchin about their high tax rate. I pay state, federal, 941s (employee withholding), 940s, employee social security tax, state business license tax, local real estate tax, local business license tax, business equipment tax, state unemployment tax, federal unemployment tax, equipment inspection tax; those are just the ones off the top of my head.

Because Cons tend to conflate the Statutory Rate (the rate set by law) of 39.6% with the Effective Rate (what the corporations actual end up paying.)

Here is a source from that notorious left winger and two time GOP candidate Steve Forbes’ magazine.

    https://www.forbes.com/sites/eriksherman/2017/04/24/trumps-corporate-tax-slash-ignores-how-litte-companies-already-pay/#812914f58aa3

The Trump administration argues that dropping corporate taxes would keep more money in the U.S., increase investment, create jobs, and in the long run help the economy.

But the plan ignores the realities of the tax system and the massive numbers of corporations that pay no or few taxes in any given year.

As a result, the effective rate corporations pay now is already close to that 15% level. A major cut in top rates without eliminating huge numbers of tax loopholes would create a disastrous loss of income and result in even more burden on individual.

It’s amazing how liberals show their ignorance about everything regarding economics. Oh, that’s right, they voted for HilLIARy too so what does one expect?

So… lower the rate to.. 20% and then insist that you MUST pay a minmum of 20%.. no matter how many loopholes or deductions you are elegiblefor.

If we take off that engine how far will that plane go? If we put the corporate tax rate to zero, will we get the trickle down then? Or will the CEO still get the lion’s share while we lose programs for the poor?

Is Ramirez’s connection to what American businesses actually pay in taxes weakened by his breathing jet engine exhaust? [ His brain certainly was oxygen-starved when he drew this toon! ]
