My opinion: He should have smacked snotty George W. Bush in 2000, and possibly would have been elected president. He should not have chosen wacky Sarah Palin in 2008, and probably would have been president. McCain, in fighting some sort of painful inner demons, didn’t have enough fight left over to go all the way to the White House. How would history have been different?
Maybe this will encourage him to support taking cannabis off of schedule 1 list. Cannabis has been shown to kill some forms of brain cancer cells while protecting the brain cells. This latest research coming out of Isreal.
And some disgusting low-life scumwads in the “Alt-Right” are claiming that this is his “Punishment from God” for not blindly following and rubber-stamping everything the Evil Orange Sphincter does! Those are the type of people that Steve Bannon attracts…
During the 2008 presidential campaign, I attended a John McCain town hall meeting in Philadelphia. Even though I am a lifelong liberal and disagreed with most of what he had to say, my respect for the man increased tremendously during that hour, as he presented the conservative positions more coherently than most other Republicans of our time are able to do. And having the opportunity to shake his hand after the meeting was something I will never forget. Hang in there, Senator!
We strive so hard to make things orderly, yet entropy rules our lives. I do not share McCain’s beliefs, but until Palin, he seemed a somewhat rational person … that too, may have been entropy making its mark. Get well John McCain.
We could all fight better with that kind of health care. He will fight back from death’s door to take away millions of his fellow American’s chance to live through the same.
Regardless “politics”, this man has devoted his life to America. His acceptance of the Wassila weird one showed his mental capacities have been compromised for some time, PTSD?, but his character is to serve. Our current administration totally lacks his courage, and integrity, and hasn’t suffered any of the challenges John has. I have disagreed with his positions, but never lost respect for the “inner man”.
I disagree with almost all of John McCain’s political positions, but I don’t want him to have a brain tumor. I hope he gets better. I also dislike the ubiquitous “war” metaphor for cancer. If you have cancer, you’re sick and you try to get well. That’s all. It isn’t a battle, and people with cancer are no braver and no more cowardly than anyone else. To say otherwise is to imply that those who die of cancer are not brave or are otherwise undeserving.
Yes, I wish that McCain had not been shafted by Bush’s minions in 2000. Especially the sob exploiting North Caroline Republicans racism. Things would have turned out so different. He probably would not have been able to prevent 9/11, but the response most likely would not have included invading Iraq.
But by 2008, it was too late for him. I was going to vote for him right up until he picked Palin. Having her a heartbeat from the presidency just seemed to be very bad judgement. And then there was the “Bomb, bomb Iran” stuff. It was sad to see.
But even so, he even now more character and honor than either “W” or the Frump.

Though I’m not politically on the same side of the aisle with him, I have great admiration for him.

I hope he can overcome this though it sounds bad. Ted Kennedy didn’t last long after his brain tumor diagnosis.

Many in positions of power and personal best friends with their worst political enemies. The posts today show how this can be.

What if god knocked John out of the Senate so the Health Care vote would fail?

Have rarely agreed with him on policy but have always respected his integrity. And I will hold him in my prayers.

Look a that face! I ask you could THIS face help send thousands of GI’s to a useless death in Iraq?
