I carry a flip phone, because all I use it for is to call someone if I am away from home or so that they can get in touch with me. It is also, of course, for any emergencies that may occur when I am out and about.
Plain little Alcatel phone, can make calls and do basic texting, cannot surf the web or take pictures. I wait until I get home to the computer to do E mails and surf the web.
Certain guidelines at work make it necessary for me to connect to TV network sites and Netflix by phone. (Currently watching House of Cards 5th season.)

Almost never checked my phone until I got the FitBit. Now I check it pretty regularly to see how I’m doing.
