    PBS, of course, means many kinds of programming- but somehow, Sesame street has become their default symbol.

    the Muppets are a multi-million $ corporation with all the merchandise they sell. They do not need a taxpayer subsidy

    @V45mikky, it’s not the Muppets which are being defunded, it’s all of the stations which air them and all of the other programs.

    In 2015, Sesame Street signed a 5-year deal with HBO to air new content. The reason: falling revenues.
